The HH804U is a high accuracy RTD input thermometer. These handhelds work with platinum PT100 RTDs and are selectable for 3 different temperature coefficient curves. These units comply with ITS-90. Both come standard with a built in USB port and DC power jack. Optional Windows software and AC adapter allow real time data logging to PC for extended periods. The HH804W model features a quick and easy to use wireless interface instead of USB. This allows real time data transmission at distances of up to 75'.

Connectors are an issue!!
Connectors require DIN probes. Only a couple of probes are capable of being purchased with the correct DIN probes. No adapters exist. You'll be soldering these and hoping they work. And you won't be able to use the style of RTD probe which best suits your application.

Difficult connectors
Stupid me. The other reviewer warned that the connectors are difficult to solder to the RTD leads. Well, I verified that for myself. I regret buying this device because of that. A good solder connection is critical for proper temp measurement, as well as to keep the conductors from pulling loose during use. Too bad, as the device itself would probably work fine.

No longer CE compliant! Really?!!
Meter works great & seems to be quite accurate; however, this item was just designated as "No longer CE compliant". This should be documented somewhere! We planned to give these to our service technicians in Europe, but without CE compliance, it might be held up at customs. Seeking new meter now...

Robust Travel Thermometer
Our company relies on accurate and precise temperature measurements. This thermometer has been bumped around in a tool case, traveled hundreds of miles, and continued to provide results we can count on. An easy to understand user interface and long lasting battery makes this a great tool for those who rely on great results.

Good unit
This unit is a good bang for the buck. The only thing I would change is adding another digit of resolution. Make sure you are good at soldering, the connectors can be a bit tricky.

I love this meter
If you know that you soldier skills are lacking do not buy this meter. I did not have any issue with putting the connector on and have bought about three of these meters. You cannot beat this meter for the price. The connectors were a non issue for me and others that I recommend to purchase.

Will you provide the communication protocol (or VI) that allows accessing meter readings using Labview. I've search forums & found partial code but haven't been successful. Doing this is VALUE ADDED & streamlines integration with test setups!
Omega will provide the HH800 series protocol upon request but does not offer technical support in writing code or debugging issues that may arise. Omega sells the HH800-SW Software to use in collecting data from the HH804U.

I am having problems with soldering the din connectors. Solder does not adhere to connector and connector melts during the soldering. Is there an alternate method of connecting the probe to din connectors ? Probe :PR-10E-3-100-1/4-6-SB
Due to this being a more complicated issue please call 1-888-826-6342 , ask for Temperature Engineering or send an email to temp@dwyeromega.com to speak to one of our temperature engineers so we may better assist you

Do you sell an AC adapter for the HH804U, to plug into its 12Vdc power jack? If not, can you give me the size of the plug that fits that jack?
Yes! It's at https://www.omega.com/en-us/sensors-and-sensing-equipment/temperature/hygrothermometers/p/HH800-ADAPTOR

Where can I find the protocol or functional description of the USB connection, or software app, please? Thanks.
The HH804U uses the HH800-SW Software which is purchased separately and includes the communication cable.
