Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Performance and Reliability I am thoroughly impressed with the performance of the presssure transducer. The transducer offers exceptional resolution, capable of detecting even the smallest leaks. The device was easy to integrate into our system, and the user manual provided clear instructions. Since its installation, it has consistently delivered precise and reliable readings. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this Omega Engineering pressure transducer and highly recommend it for its high resolution, robust build, and consistent performance.

You can specify the "pressure type" measurement as "gauge" or "vacuum". What exactly does the vacuum pressure type mean? It is the same as absolute pressure?

Asked by: JoeyH9
A vacuum-type sensor is like a negative gauge, the signal has a negative scale, meaning the low output will be when the pressure is at zero, and as the pressure DECREASES the signal will INCREASE

Is there an option to add grid lines to the charting area?

Asked by: Domenic
If this option could be added in a future update, it would be very helpful for reading the chart area while test is running in real time. This can give the user a faster indication of the test results. Thank you.

Can the PX409 series be used to measure oil pressure? I cannot find any info stating the acceptable mediums.

Asked by: Aaron20
Thanks for your Question. The PX409-001CG10V is a 316 Stainless Steel unit that can be used to measure oil. Please check your oil chemical compatibility with 316SS. Please call or email us at pressure@omega.com with any further questions.

Will MMDDB2.5BIV10P4C5T1A3, listed as bi-directional differential pressure, 0-2.5 psi, read vacuum if the low port is connected to the vacuum process and the high port open to atmosphere? Will it work with both ports across different vacuums?

Asked by: Ed5280
If you connect a vacuum to the low and leave the high port open to atmosphere the unit will output 0 to -10VDC if a vacuum id applied to the LOW port. If you apply varying vacuums to both ports the unit will respond with a sign representing the difference between the vacuums applied ranging from -10VDC to +10VDC

What is the resolution limit on this device? I'm interested in your 0-2 bar sensor and what the lowest pressure value it is able to measure accurately.

Asked by: Ben_
Resolution would depend on how small of a signal change the instrumentation used to read the 0 to 10VDC output can resolve. The sensor will read from 0 to 2 bar but the lower 10% of the range (0 to 0.2 bar) would end to be less accurate

Are the high accuracy transducers rated for use with hydrogen?

Asked by: jrea98
We do not recommended using our transducers in a hydrogen application due to embrittlement of the wetted parts when exposed to hydrogen

Hi, we have a PX409-16BI transmitter that we are developing a validation procedure for. Stated zero and span tolerances are +/- 0.5% FS typical with a +/- 1% FS maximum. Which should I use for validation? (BSL is not a validation tolerance)

Asked by: John314
You would use the +/- 1% FS max

When you say accuracy, are you referring to the resolution or the measurement, or the actual measurement accuracy? What are the respective values of each?

Asked by: Julian
Thank you for contacting Omega. The PX409 is a full analog path sensor, meaning it's resolution is essentially infinite. The accuracy we specify details the uncertainty of the output. We specify the combined uncertainty contributed by non-linearity, repeatability, and histories.
