Product Overview
The PRTXD Series are two-wire transmitters that provide a 4 to 20 mA signal representing temperature. The units include a 3 1/2 digit display and the RTD sensor. The NEMA 4X (IP66) housing protects the electronics.
Units are available with 4 inch or 12 inch fixed length or spring loaded RTD probes. Spring loaded RTD probes provide good thermal contact when used in thermowells.
SPECIFICATIONS
Sensor: 100 W RTD element, 0.00385 alpha coefficient IEC-751 class B: ±0.3°C at 0°C, ±1.1°C at 150°C
Display: 41.2 digit LCD, 1.2' digit height, 4 readings per second, nominal display update rate
Out of Range Indication:
ALARM 1: On display above 200°C (392°F)
ALARM 2: On display below -50°C (-58°F)
Loop Supply Voltage: Any DC supply/loop resistance that maintains 8 to 32 Vdc at gauge terminals (reverse polarity protected)
Loop Output Characteristics: 4 to 20 mA output (see chart for loop voltage characteristics), minimum 8 V required at gauge terminals at all times for proper operation
Test Function: Front panel TEST button when held, sets loop current and display to test calibration level, independent of temperature input to allow testing of system operation
Wiring Connections (See Drawing): 0.9 m (3') long, 2-conductor 22 AWG cable
Material and Color: NEMA 4X (IP66) ABS/Polycarbonate housing, light gray gasketed rear cover connection and
probe material: 1.2 NPT male hex nipple, 316 stainless steel probe sheath
Operating Temperature (Electronics): -20 to 85°C (-4 to 185°F)
Storage Temperature: -40 to 95°C (-40 to 203°F)
Weight:
Transmitter: Approx 340 g (12 oz)
Shipping Weight: Approx 450 g (1 lb)
Range: -50 to 200°C (-58 to 392°F)
Resolution: 0.1 degree
Accuracy: ±0.1% of span plus max sensor error of ±0.3°C at 0°C or ±1.1°C at 150°C
Units are available with 4 inch or 12 inch fixed length or spring loaded RTD probes. Spring loaded RTD probes provide good thermal contact when used in thermowells.

What is the pressure rating of the probe when used without a thermowell?
Hi TerryD,
Thank you for the request. We do not provide a pressure rating on this product due to the temperatures the probe may be exposed to.
Best regards,
OMEGA

Can the 4-20 mA output be scaled on this transmitter. ie could you scale your 4-20 for 0 - 50 degrees?
Hi Mack,
Thank you for the inquiry. Yes, the scale can be modified to 0 to 50 degrees. Manual describes the configuration steps.
Best regards
OMEGA
