The FST1000 Series measures air velocity and provides two SPST alarm contact closures corresponding to high and low alarm set points. The alarm set points are adjustable from 0 to 100% of the air flow range. The unit comes with a green power LED, and two red LEDs for high and low alarm indications. They can be used in research and development labs, HVAC applications, exhaust/ ventilation hoods and other manufacturing processes. The sensor design is based on RTD elements; the air velocity is measured by the heat loss from the RTD sensor as it cools down by the air flow. The sensor probe comes in two configurations, fixed mount and remote probe.

Is this product reliable in a dusty enviroment? I mean I am wanting to monitor the air flow in the exhaust system for powder coating, and there will be fine dust particles in this ducting. Can the sensor be placed in this stream, needs to be placed after
Thank you for your inquiry about the air flow switch. Unfortunately, due to the dust particles you mentioned, it will affect the reading since a coating can occur. Best to place after in an area with no debris or suspended particles.

What is the Area Classification of the switch? Can it be installed in the intake of the Blower with odorous air and will be in Class 1, Div 1 area? can it have adjustable setting of air flow threshold? What is before and after pipe requirements ?
Unfortunately, this switch is not rated for hazardous environments, and we do not recommend using the sensor for this application.
