Holds up to elevated temperaturesPurchased this wire about three weeks ago for an upcoming U.L. test. Insulation held up very well to temperatures of 600 to 800°F. I thought the test conditions, heat/grease/mechanical abuse, would destroy the thermocouples and that they would need to be replaced for each test run. I was wrong. They survived several test runs and are still usable.

Sturdy Extension WireThe wire was very solid which worked well for durability purposes. This feature made it difficult to properly connect the wire to miniature k-type connectors.

WireThe wire is fine, however the outer sheathing isn't brown, it's green. I was assured that this would come in Green and White for the chromel/alumel and the sheathing would be brown.
Can this wire be reused? If so, how many times?
Going up to 1225°F.
Asked by: Gomez1018
Thank you for your request. This wire's insulation is rated for physical exposure up to 392°F.

Hi, what would be the most sutable type of thermocouple wire to be used for measuring a temperature around -5c to +5c ? I was planning to use the HH-25U or HH12C readout. Is Type T is more accurate than K or J for example?.
Asked by: Paul B
Thank you for your inquiry. At low temperatures, Type T is the most accurate of all thermocouple types.

Hi, Is the wire compatible with organic/week acidic solution of chemical reaction to measure the temperature of the solution?
Asked by: Pawan
Hi Pawan,
The thermocouple alloys may contaminate your process. For this I would recommend HSTC series; hermetically sealed in PFA thermocouples.

Nominal size is given as 0.050*0.086 in. What is it mean? how to read this ? I am looking for individual wire OD and overall cable for PR-K-24 part no.
Asked by: Abhishek
Thank you for your inquiry. The nominal size is the size of the oval shaped cross section of the wire with the overall insulation. We do not provide the individual wire OD.

Hi,
Is compatible with OM-CP-OCTTEMP-A?
Regards
Asked by: Shiro_7789
Hi, thank you for your question. OM-CP-OCTTEMP-A if definitely compatible with type K thermocouples. If you are making your own thermocouples with this wire, please remember to use miniature connectors (like SMPW-K-M) to plug directly into your logger.
