The Omega OS130A-Series offers a low cost, high-performance infrared (IR) sensor/transmitter in a 316 stainless steel housing. These IR sensors are ideal for hard-to-reach areas, confined spaces, or harsh environments. The 6 different output options provide simple interfacing directly to meters, controllers, data loggers, recorders, computer boards, and PLC's. The units come standard with 2 hex nuts, 1.8 m (6') shielded cable for power and output connections, and an operator’s manual.

The OS137A models feature adjustable emissivity 0.5 to 1, field of view 10 to 1, and adjustable alarm set points and voltage output to trigger external relays. The stainless steel housing makes this sensor durable and long lasting and the OS137A models have a NEMA IP65 rating.

The OS136A models have a NEMA IP66 rating and remain robust within many different environments. These models have an optical field of view of 6 to 1 with a fixed emissivity of 0.95.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Set up was simple! I set this unit up on my test bench. It was simple and worked well. We will install it on our production machine within the next few weeks. I'll update this review after we see how it works on a running machine. I gave it 4 stars until we try it in production.

What is the exposed lens material for OS136A?

Asked by: RAMaston
Hi RAMason, Thank you for the inquiry. Lens is white Poly IR, 0.10” thick. Isopropyl alcohol on a cotton tip applicator should be fine for cleaning. Best regards OMEGA

Infrared Sensor/Transmitter, Item# OS137A-1-K Hi, Can I use this to measure glass surface at a distance of 20cm? Do I need to tile the angle or perpendicular to the target surface, which is a piece of glass.

Asked by: John Ho
The OS137A-1-K can measure glass surface temperatures from 0 to 100C, The field of view is 10:1, so that at 20 cm away the spot size is 3.7 cm when the IR sensor is perpendicular to the surface that you are measuring. Please note that the spot size needs to be smaller than the object that you are measuring. Also note that this sensor will read the glass surface only not the objects behind the glass surface. Thank you.
