Getting bored of this from
Nothing but problems with these devices
I purchaced several of these along with a bunch of the ZW-ED devices. Getting the ZW-ED device to communicate with the ZW-REC device seems to be a near impossibility. When I have talked to the people over at Omegas data acquisition department, I was told that they "no longer support the onboard dashboard" and that I need to use the "Omega Enterprise Dashboard". When I tried to install that software the installer tried to update my internet settings (something I cannot do due to company policy).
The ZW-ED device "connects" to the ZW-REC as in the blue LED indicator blinks 5 times and shuts off indicating a connection per the manual, but doesnt actually connect. I've had devices dead on arrival (it happens I know) and I've had to update firmware right out of the box.
If you want to use these, be ready to put in more time into getting the devices to run than they will actually be running.
Customer support = frequent disconnects (every time i've tried to talk with them) and restarting the troubleshooting process every time you try to reconnect. I'm so tired of explaining the same problem and answering the same questions.

Good things come in small packages
I was looking for some lab quality sensors with access to the internet for a client and come across this device by Omega and was presently surprised at the simplicity of the operation and setup. With built in webserver the client is extremely happy and that goes double for me!

It's OK with Limitations
This device works ok within ~500 ft. You are risking yourself if you do anything more. It is NOT nema 4X so please cover it.
Pros:
- Ethernet Cable, detects transmitter XW easily, not to big.
Cons:
- Add $395 for OEG just to record and scale your signal to psi, gpm, ft/hr, etc.
- Not good for environment agents like water, dust, etc. It isn't covered at all.
- Need ~30 min to setup and better be concentrated for it. 3 softwares to setup and record your transmission.
- Needs outside power source.
- ~500 ft, one signal bar (no obstructions). We couldn't find the perfect position for the advertised 1 mile.
