Product Overview
This compact heater is designed for many different applications including electrical and electronic enclosures, display panels, access and parking control systems and personnel booths.
To determine the required heater size follow this equation:
PH = (A x ΔT x k) - Pv
PH = Required heating power for your application in Watts (W)
Pv = Heating power generated by existing components (e.g. a transformer) in Watts (W)
A = Exposed enclosure surface area square meters (m2)
ΔT = Temperature differential between the desired minimum interior temperature and lowest possible external temperature of the enclosure in Kelvin (K), 1.8°F = 1°C = 1K
k = Heat transmission coefficient of the enclosure material used:
Stainless Steel: 3.7 W/m2K
Painted Steel: 5.5 W/m2K
Aluminum: 12 W/m2K
Polyester/Plastic: 3.5 W/m2K
For outdoor applications it is recommended to double the heating power.

doing what I needed
Bought this to keep Richie brand livestock water fountain from freezing here in Dakota. Probably not what the manufacture had intended, or even Omega. So far doing it's job. Internet search engines are great for this sort of need and purchase...

Can the heater be used on a enviroment of -10 Celsius (14 Fahrenheit) ? Or what is the operating range for this product?
The operating/storage temperature for the HVL heater is -45 to 70C.

Is it possible to configure this heater such that the fan is always on? We plan to use it with Omega Benchtop Controllers that we already have. We would like the heater to be turned on/off by the controller, but have the fan stay on constantly.
Hi BG1119
Thank you for the inquiry. Fan is wired internally in parallel with the heater to ensure always on when heater is on. This unit does not have provision for separate connection. Please consider one of the FCH series for separate fan heater circuit.
Best regards
OMEGA

Does this heater have a thermostat built in or does it need an external thermostat/controller?
Thank you for your inquiry. This heater does not have a built-in thermostat. Please see link for thermostat examples: https://www.omega.com/en-us/control-monitoring/controllers/c/thermostats

Hi, I am planing to install this product to heat up the hot side of a Hot box measurement. The size of the space is 1m3 and it very well insulated. I would like to know if this product can be a good choice and is there anyway to adjust the heating cap.?
The HVL14900 may be useful in the application but we will need more information to adequately answer this question. You'll want to e-mail to temp@omega.com with the dimensions of the enclosure as well as the temperature your process will be at start up as well as the temperature that you wish to achieve.
