Thermocouple molded assemblies with transition joints of molded glass-filled nylon provide an economical yet durable thermocouple probe for a variety of sensing applications. The measuring temperature is limited only by thermocouple type and sheath material. Stainless steel sheaths have a maximum temperature of 1650°F (900°C) with Inconel 600 rated to 2100°F (1150°C). The calibration letter code is an integral part of the mold.
Molded Transition Junction N Type calibration have been discontinued. For other Transition Juncation Probes with a N Calibration available, see the Model TJ36-NNIN Or TJC36-NNIN or TJ36-NNXL or please contact our Temperature Engineering department for a viable replacement.
Standard Dimensions
*Specify junction type: E (exposed), G (grounded) or U (ungrounded). Supplied with Stainless Steel transition joints. To order with 310, 316 or 321 SS sheath, change “SS” in model number to “310SS”, “316SS” or “321SS” respectively; no additional charge. Consult Sales for lengths between 2 to 12", or for lengths over 24".

I use the probe to measure the temperature a in propane forge and I'm very happy with it's performance. The minor complaint I have is that the polarity of the leads were not labelled and I hooked it up backwards the first time.

What is the accuracy of the JTSS and JTIN thermcouples?
Thank you for your inquiry Tim P1. The accuracy of any J type thermocouple is +/- 1.1°C or 0.4% whichever is greater.

Can these probes be bent? If so, what is the minimum bend diameter?
Thank you for your inquiry Preston S. Yes, this probe can be bent. The minimum bend diameter is 3 times the diameter of the probe.

What is the voltage input for this thermocouple?
Thank you for your request. Thermocouple do not require an input voltage unless it is coupled with a transmitter/signal conditioner. This is not. They OUTPUT a millivolt signal of their own.
