HTWT Series consists of flexible silicon rubber heating tapes with a built-in thermostat set at 16ºC (60ºF). Units are ideal for freeze protection or a low-temperature process control solution. Units are plug-and-play and are suitable for electrically conductive surfaces. They use a patented grounded heating element for safety.

So the thermostat is set @ 60F, can that be adjusted? It gives a max temp output so I am leaning toward yes but I wanted to confirm.

Asked by: NJARO
Thank you for your inquiry. The maximum temperature is FIXED at 60°F.

Is there a limit for how long this can be plugged in? I want to keep an exposed water line from freezing during the winter months and ideally would like to be able to plug this in for possibly up to a month at a time.

Asked by: Chillme27
Thank you for the inquiry. The HTWT heater is not recommended for this application due the extreme ambient temperature changes encountered. Please contact us for alternate heat tracing solutions available for freeze protection. Best regards OMEGA

Can I wrap this around a Diesel Exhaust Fluid tank, perhaps with a thermal blanket over the top, on a truck to prevent freezing while parked overnight? We experience -30F in winter months and those DEF systems freeze solid overnight.

Asked by: Nat07
Thanks for your inquiry. Though not required, insulation over the heat tape can be used.
