Rated 5 out of 5 by from Design problem I used a shorting bar to check the four inputs to see if they were the same. They indicated the ambient temperature but, when the supplied thermocouples were plugged in, a different ambient temperature was indicated. I assume that this is due to the tolerance of the thermocouple wire. A bigger difficulty was the spacing of the TC receptacles. When all four TCs are plugged in, it is very difficult to remove one of the plugs. It was necessary for me to pry two of them out with a small screwdriver before the other two could be removed. This is a design problem that should never been approved for manufacture.

Does it come with a immersion thermocouple probe?

Asked by: Kaushik
The probes that come with the HH501DK are not recommended for immersion and a metal sheathed probe would need to be purchased separately.

We just bought 2 of Omega HH501 Dk thermometers. When temping products it keeps going into OL while we are temping the product. Why does this happen?

Asked by: Rhonda Vorndran
The OL would be an open input so one of the Thermocouples is opening up intermittently or at specific temperatures. Make sure the probes are operating within their specified range and try others to filter out possible defective ones.

Does it come with type K thermocouples? Or, I have to buy thermocouples additionally. Is calibration needed before use, or it is already calibrated and tested before shipping? Thanks.

Asked by: ZHENYU
Hi, thanks for connecting with Omega. This unit comes complete with a NIST calibration certificate with no points, user’s manual, 4 beaded K Thermocouples, alkaline battery and a rubber boot. Please contact our Tech Support if you have any further questions. Thank you.
