The HH520 is a 4 channel handheld data logger/thermometer that accepts Types J, K, T and E thermocouples. Measurement settings and results are shown on the backlit LCD display. Data can be stored in the data logger and then downloaded to the computer or directly saved on the computer through the USB interface in real time. With the exclusive software, recording/ recalling of data and programming of logging parameters can be done directly through a PC. There is a save dialog window in the software where the data file name and file type to save can be selected. There are three types of file format that can be selected: binary file (*.ghf), text file(*.txt) and Excel® format file (*.csv). The .txt file format can be opened by the HH520 software and any other word processor program like Microsoft® Word or Notepad. The .csv file format can be opened by the HH520 software and also by Microsoft Excel.
The *.ghf file uses much less disk space to save the data than the other two file formats, but it can only be used in the HH520 software.

Value and practical
Value and practical. In stock and prompt delivery. Software may need one more option on grid layout: such as smaller checker board squares on the background to identify data point location. A longer USB cable would be better. On Windows XP, each time the logger is manually powered off and on again and then the hardware driver is automatically installed while USB was plugged in, but need to uninstall and install it again one more time to avoid installation issue. This would need to state in the manual.

what is the power supply of this item HH520-CAL-3 ? i need a temperature datalogger but it must be charged by wire conexion directly to electricity, Not only by batteries.
Thank you for your inquiry. The item HH520-CAL-3 only runs on four 1.5 V “AAA” batteries; external power through USB interface. It does not have an AC to DC adaptor.

Would the rated sampling rate (Sample Rate: 2 samples/sec = 2Hz) applied to all 4 channel at the same time? if less than all 4 is used, can I increase the sampling rate?
The channels would measure sequentially so using 1 channel will achieve the 2 Hz rate and if the other channels are measuring it would need to have all used channels completed before the next measurement is made on the first channel. There isn't any way to adjust the sampling rate.

How often does it require a calibration according to the manufacturer? Does it last for one year or more?
There is no defined time period how long a calibration will remain valid. It is recommended to do a re-calibration at least once per year.

Hello, I have the HH520 datalogger thermometer. Can I find a driver for this device online? My computer does not recognize the USB device.
The Software is available on the Omega website at https://www.omega.com/en-us/ftp under Temperature products.

Does this come with an initial calibration certificate?
The standard part number, HH520 does not come with a Certificate of Calibration. If a certified meter is require, HH520-CAL-3 needs to be ordered.

What is the length of the thermocouples? how many are included? and what is the model of the thermocouples to ask for more
The Thermocouples included when purchasing are Type K 40" long. The part number for more would be 5SC-GG-K-30-36.

What advantage does this new 4-channel unit have over the older OM-HL-EH-TC 8-channel ?? What makes it worth $50 more ??
Thank you for your inquiry. Biggest advantage of the HH520 is the accuracy spec;
HH520
Accuracy is specified for ambient temperatures between 18°C (64°F) and 28°C (82°F). The specifications do not include thermocouple sensor error.
± (0.1% of reading+0.7°C)
OM-HL-EH-TC
± ( 0.8 C + 0.2 % Reading )
