Description

OMEGA introduces its new “T” Series Miniature Instrumentation Connectors. OMEGA “T” Series Connectors are particularly well suited for both three and four wire RTD sensors as well as other types of instrumentation where copper-type lead wire is used. OMEGA “T” Connectors are not recommended for use with thermocouples which require connectors with special compensating alloys in their construction. The Series “T” Connector family includes both a male (Model TA-M) and female (Model TA-F) cord plug, as well as two panel/bulkhead receptacles – one male (Model TB-M), the other female (TY-F). All four items are available in both three or four pin contact construction. A trim plate, Model TYEF-02, is available for the female panel receptacle. Both male and female cord plugs are offered in two styles: with flexure relief, which accepts up to 2.9 mm (0.114") cable diameter, or without flexure relief, which accepts up to 4.4 mm (0.173") cable diameter (add “-L” suffix to model number when ordering). “L” style must be ordered when used with OMEGA’s Retractable Sensor Cable (RSC). Connections are made on all styles by solder terminals..
Rated 3 out of 5 by from almost adequate I purchased this for a test setup that needed an 4 wire RTD. Although the plug has strain relief the receptacle had none and was more for panel mount then inline cable to cable use. However the connector was robust (other than the lack of strain relief) and small enough in size. It would be nice to have a thermoplastic version with strain relief on both ends (plug and receptacle) and smaller in size.

I have a couple of questions about the TA3F cord and plug. How is the cord terminated? Is it the same type of plug as a Digi-Sense? If I buy one I plan on using it with A Digi-Sense RTD thermometer.

Asked by: Bill Osborne Jr
There is no termination. The connectors come as is, no cord.

Is there an adapter that I can use if I have a 3 wire RTD that I need to connect to a 4 pin miniature connector?

Asked by: Gawtam
No adapter, if you have a 4 pin connector, you need to use the mating 4 pin connector.
