The OMEGA™ iSeries is a family of microprocessor-based instruments offered in three true DIN sizes with NEMA 4 (IP65) rated front bezels. All of the instruments share the same set-up and configuration menu and method of operation, a tremendous time saver for integration of a large system. The iSeries family includes extremely accurate digital panel meters "DPi" and single loop PID controllers "CNi" that are simple to configure and use, while providing tremendous versatility and a wealth of powerful features.
The DPi Series covers a broad selection of transducer and transmitter inputs with 2 input models.
The Universal temperature and process instrument (DPi models) handles 10 common types of thermocouples, multiple RTDs and several process (DC) voltage and current ranges. This model also features built-in excitation, 24 Vdc @ 25 mA. With its wide choice of signal inputs, this model is an excellent choice for measuring or controlling temperature with a thermocouple, RTD, or 4 to 20 mA transmitter. The strain and process instruments (DPiS models) measure inputs from load cells, pressure transducers, and most any strain gage sensor as well as process voltage and current ranges. The DPiS has built-in 5 or 10 Vdc excitation for bridge transducers, 5 Vdc @ 40 mA or 10 Vdc @ 60 mA (any excitation voltage between 5 and 24 Vdc is available by special order). This DPiS model supports 4- and 6-wire bridge communications, ratiometric measurements. The DPiS features fast and easy "in process" calibration/ scaling of the signal inputs to any engineering units. This model also features 10-point linearization which allows the user to linearize the signal input from extremely nonlinear transducers of all kinds. Programmable Color Display The DPi Series are 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32 DIN digital panel meter featuring the big iSeries color-changing display. The digits are twice the size of typical 1/8 DIN panel meters. The iSeries meters feature the only LED displays that can be programmed to change color between GREEN, AMBER, and RED. . Embedded internet and serial communications featuring optional "embedded Internet" (specify "-EIT" option) the iSeries are the first instruments of their kind that connect directly to an Ethernet network and transmit data in standard TCP/ IP packets, or even serve Web pages over a LAN or the Internet. The iSeries are also available with serial communications. With the "-C24" option, the user can select from the pushbutton menu between RS232, RS422, and RS485, with straightforward ASCII commands. If Modbus is required, we recommend our latest Platinum meters - DPPT Series.

Good Product
Pleased with the product. Easy to program , preforms well.
Shipping is a little slow, and even though I ordered the product from Omega located in Connecticut, the product shipped from California, and had I known this I would have selected a different shipping method.

Cost effective and flexible!
Replaced a unit that was damaged due to lightning strike. First one worked for years until millions of volts decided to destroy it. GREAT tech support when the manual and menu was less than obvious.

Is it possible to program the output to display a temperature reading directly correlated to the voltage input? (i.e. 2.175 VDC = 500°F or 4.51 VDC = 1000°F)
Yes, it can be done. If you start with the CNI32 or 16 or 8S, for strain, that unit has 10 point linearization and should be able to. However, we would like to better understand the application to confirm this and advise accurately. Please contact our Tech Support to best advise on the application and product recommendations. Thank you.

As a follow-up to the thread about the LCGB-500 load cell, if the DPiS32 is powering the load cell, which port does the shield cable connect to?
There isn't any provision on the DPiS32 to connect the shield from the load cell. You would need to connect it to an external earth ground.

Is the DPiS32 compatible with the LCGB-500 load cell?
Yes, The DPiS32 is compatible with the LCGB-500 load cell. It will both power and read the output signal directly from the load cell. Please note that the DC powered version of the display (DPiS32-DC) does not have the built-in excitation power to drive the load cell. External excitation power would need to be provided to the load cell if you use a DC powered version of this display.

Can you provide the ethernet cable wiring diagram?
Hi Jerry,
Thank you for the inquiry. Following linked manual provides wiring details of the ethernet cable.

what does - opn mean on the display?
"OPN" on the display of the I Series panel meters means that the input signal is missing. Check wiring to the input to make certain connections are all there and complete and sensors attached are functioning properly. You can also check the INPUT type selected in the menu to make certain that the setting matches the actual input type being applied.

Is this compatible with LC103B-2K load cells?
The CNi/DPi Series controller/displays are not compatible with strain gage based sensors like the LC103B load cells. The CNiS/DPiS variants of this series are compatible with strain gage based sensors but they will only accept a unipolar input signal so you would not be able to use the load cell to measure in both tension and compression. Suggest you look at Platinum Series Controllers/Displays CN32PT,CN16PT,CN8PT,DP32PT,DP16PT and DP8PT.
