These 100 ohm Class B Platinum sensors are available in 2 different mounting styles, the SA2C model for curved surfaces and the SA2F model for flat surfaces. The integral RTD sensor is bonded onto a self adhesive aluminum foil strip, which provides for a fast response to changing surface temperatures. The aluminum foil strip is overmolded in silicone rubber to provide a durable but flexible sensor.

In addition to the standard 100 ohm resistance, these sensors are also available with 500 ohm and 1000 ohm resistances.

Hi Whats the accuracy of the sensor? Precision PT100 Class "B" or +-0,15C

Asked by: peter2
Product is Class A as defined by the DIN or IEC 60751 calibration standard. +/- 0.15°C at 0°C.

What is the response time on 60 degree C plate?

Asked by: seraph3
Thank you for your inquiry seraph3. Unfortunately, we do not have specific information about the response time of a probe as the environment will affect the response time directly. A time constant has been defined as the time required by a sensor to reach 63.2% of a step change in temperature under a specified set of conditions. Five time constants are required for the sensor to approach 100% of the step change value. An exposed junction thermocouple offers the fastest response. Also, the smaller the probe sheath diameter, the faster the response, but the maximum temperature may be lower. For more information, please review the following link: https://www.omega.co.uk/temperature/Z/ThermocoupleResponseTime.html

How does the SA2C compare to the SAPC models? For instance, SA2C-RTD-3-100-A-40 and SAPC-RTD-4-100-A-40 look to be identical.

Asked by: Evan12
The SAPC is a Class A element and the SA2C is Class B so a little less accurate. Physically pretty much identical and can be used interchangeably other then the Class of element.

I want to use this sensor for running experiments on different surfaces at 300 Fdeg sunk in hot water. Can I do that with this sensor? how many times I can use this sensor (I plan to test 4 different surfaces).

Asked by: csrvivas
Unfortunately these probes are not for being immersed as are all other surface attached probes. The TFPS-TC series may be an option so check out it on www.omega.com.
