Description

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice evolution Every time I buy a new batch of thermocouple connectors, Omega has done something to make the design more foolproof (always good) and closer to idiot-proof (much harder). This latest design is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good connectors Small connectors, but good. They are robust and hold on to the small wires well with the strain relief.

Do these come in different colors, or does anyone have any DIY tricks for color coding? My applications use these in critical spots and in high volume, where mismatch mistakes can be painful in lost time and troubleshooting.

Asked by: ajIC21
I realize all K-type's are yellow. I'm asking if it is either available, or possible to order, K-types of different colors. Tools our factory uses have up to 30 of these installed, and even a single mismatch mistake by a maintenance team can result in extensive downtime in troubleshooting. So we are trying to explore color coding options to help identify pairing.

I have an Omega HH12A that is about 12 years old. Can I still get the yellow plug with the 1 meter thermocouples? What is the part # and how much each? The Certificate of Traceable Calibration: HH12A 07110271

Asked by: Charley
Thanks for your question Charley. If you are looking for the thermocouples without the adhesive backing you are going to want to look at the SRTC series. Those come with the thermocouple and connector. If you are looking for the thermocouple with a silicone adhesive backing the series you are going to be looking for is the SA1 thermocouples. For the yellow connector, that would be K type thermocouple. The insulation, wire gauge and length can be altered to your specific needs.

Why don't you list the thermocouple tolerances (accuracy) in your specifications or manuals?

Asked by: peter1547
Hi Peter1547 Thank you for the feedback. Our thermocouple spec pages provide logo showing "SLE" indicating the probes listed will meet the SLE specifications. SLE specifications are detailed in following link; https://www.omega.com/en-us/colorcodes Best regards OMEGA

What is the purpose of the 2.5 mm hole located between the + and - symbols near the end of the connector? Is it for grounding? Can it be used for mounting?

Asked by: easch
The hole has no electrical connection and can be used to secure the connector to a surface if the user wishes to use it that way.

What are the electrical properties for the SMPW-CC-K-F?

Asked by: Nate2008
These connectors are meant to carry millivolt signals generated by Thermocouples so there are no electrical ratings like on a electrical plug.

What is the measurement tolerance spec on this (SMPW-CC-K-M ) connector?

Asked by: Electrical Engineer CA
Thank you for your inquiry. Thermocouple connectors do not have affect measurement tolerance. Only the thermocouple itself can affect tolerance.

What is the CJC value of this thermocouple?

Asked by: Rakesh
Thank you for your inquiry. Connectors do not have CJC value. CJC is automatically provided by the thermometer or meter where the probe that uses this connector is connected to this thermometer/meter.
