Description

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Met specifications Pursued copper wire as closest option to model HO scale fence line. May be too fragile to use and tend to curl!!

How best to connect a fine gauge K-type thermocouple wire (say 40 AWG) to a DAQ box which has a screw pressure contact. Is there a crimp you recommend

It is best to call our engineers to review possible options.

I want to use J thermocouple wire without a probe (by twisting the ends of the stripped wires together) to measure the temperature of a curing polyurethane elastomer. I have been told that method is not valid. Is it? Thanks.

Asked by: Pam09
Twisting the wires does create a Thermocouple junction and senses at the point were the two wires first touch each other. This is a crude way to do this and the accuracy would not be truly known and should only be used in applications that have a very loose accuracy tolerance.
