The DP9800 Series thermometer can be used in conjunction with a PC to provide accurate, versatile 8 channel thermocouple and Pt100 RTD temperature measurements, scanning and logging of measured values. It can also be used as a “stand alone†indicator/ logger and incorporates a digital backlit LCD display of measured temperature. The built-in self-calibration facility for the DP9800-TC thermocouple model is a rapid and convenient method for on-site calibration and does not require any additional equipment other than a special, external link. Self-calibration of Pt100 ranges is equally simple and uses plug-in precision resistors. The DP9800 is designed to provide exceptional stability with high measurement resolution and represents an ideal crossover between plant practicality and laboratory performance at a very competitive price. The PC software supplied with the instrument allows control, measure and calibration functions.

DP9800-TC: works but keep this in mind!
1. It only shows two decimal digits when connected to PC, on PC screen. On the stand alone display it shows only one decimal digit.
2. Installing control panel on PC was not easy. I had to call technical support; even they had to dig up for a day to find me the right software driver and then it worked.

Is it possible to use wireless thermo-couple assembly with this logger? If not, what are my options to have a setup with wireless temperature sensors? I need is for recodring during product development and testing. Thank you in advance for help.. regards
Thank you for your request. Unfortunately we do no longer have wireless options for thermocouples.
Feel free to check out possible alternate process & measurement devices at www.omega.com

Do you have to use a PC each time to set the TC type? I would like to be able to set it once (or set it without PC) and then use the devices multiple times with the same TC type (with power cycles)...is that possible?
Thank you for your inquiry. The particular thermocouple type must be selected for each channel via the PC software. You can use a different thermocouple type for each channel if you choose to.
