The HTWC Series tape consists of a flexible heating strip 1' wide and of varying lengths with a permanently incorporated temperature controller. Standard tapes are available for either 120 or 240 volt operation and develop 72 watts per lineal foot. These tapes are completely safe when operated according to directions, and with reasonable care, will give long service.

This economical semi-automatically controlled heating tape has been developed by OMEGALUXâ„¢ for use in small scale heating applications.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Heat Tape Experience The HTWC that I have doesn't regulate the wattage by percentage. My unit doesn't activate any wattage until I pass the 85-90% mark at which point it gives full power to the tape. In order to regulate the heat, I then have to turn the dial back to about the 50% mark before the power cuts out on the tape. The only way to regulate the tape temperature is to tediously sit and toggle the unit on and off frequently. If you are looking for a regulated heat tape I would not recommend this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Heater The heater burned as I was testing it. It did not come with any safety shutoff that could have prevented overheating

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Arrived Broken This showed up non-functioning after purchasing 2 day shipping. I could hear something rattling around in the controller. Turns out there was a set screw that had fallen out of one of the controller components, and I was able to repair it myself since I needed it rapidly. Works well now.

How does the percentage controller work? If I set the controller to 50% for a 244W heater tape, does it consistently provide 122W of power to the heater tape?

Asked by: User_1
This Time Percentage controller varies the proportion (length) of time the heater is in the "on" or "off" heating mode. The heating application will determine the actual percentage set-point required. The controller does not use a temperature sensor and therefore satisfactory operation requires occasional supervision under changing load conditions.

What is the minimum temperature this element can be set to? I'm attempting 45 C and was wondering if that would be possible.

Asked by: BExxon
There is not really a low temperature that can be set just the lowest time the Heater will be on. It seems if it is set to the low end of the proportional dial 45C should be achievable dependent on variables like thermal load and ambient temperature conditions.
